Help with finding a cake. I'm on a budget.

Good Morning. How is everyone doing? The wedding is 2 months away and I need some help.  I'm sorry for asking I'm sure this question has been asked quite a bit but I have some specific questions.

I live in the San Fernando valley and I'm looking for a bakery who has inexpensive cakes. By inexpensive I mean $300-350 or less for 75 guests. I love the way fondant cakes look but I think they taste gross. I'm looking for a simple butter cream cake, two or three layers, white with some fresh flowers as a decoration. I've seen a couple of buttercream cakes that look as smooth as fondant...but of course not as not smooth but similar. I could also just buy the cake and add the flowers myself.

Any recs?

I've tried Portos cakes and I love them but I was not crazy about their wedding cake I had this last weekend.

Thanks

I would talk to Big Sugar Bakeshop in Studio City. We did cupcakes and cake for about $400, so I am not sure about the cake only part. But, their cake and icing is so delicious. Ask for Mary.

Jacqui's Cakes is rather inexpensive and she uses buttercream, she quoted us at $350 for 120 people so you would definitely get out of there for less.
Bummer about Portos!  Their cake is normally sooo good!
    Good luck!

I second JennieNeilan - I just got married on April 23rd, we went wtih Jaqki's Cakes.  Not only was the cake beautiful, but it was so darn delicious.  Everyone kept eating...2nd and 3rd servings.  It was so darn good, we ended up cutting our top tier.  My husband will just have to buy me another cake for our 1st yr anniversay! :)

I can show you a picture of our cake. :)

I'm in the same boat for my wedding in 3 months and I found Plusko's Bakery in Canoga Park.  They are definitely within your budget and have prices on their website which I confirmed over the phone as well.  They have some great specialty flavors that only cost $5-10 more per layer!  They got great reviews on Yelp too.

    Good Luck!
