HELP!! Budget Reception in LA/Newport/Redondo/Palos Verdes area

I am trying to plan my wedding from SC, 1st dilemma.  2nd dilemma, I am looking for a reception site for 100 people or less...costing $5000 or less.  I have looked online, it seems, everywhere in the area and "budget" means 17K.  Help!!

I'm not sure how many people you have but have you checked out the Castaway in Burbank? Or the Sunset Resturant in Malibu Or maybe some of the locations in like Santa Clarita, once you got a bit north of Los Angeles it gets a lot cheaper?  For vendors check out Corbin Kell Photography for photo, www.corbinkell.cc, works really well with a budget and does a great job.  For Video, Gould Video, www.gouldvideo.com, same for him and then flowers maybe a diy thing and just pay for your bouquet?

Check the following in Redondo Beach, Ca

    The Cheesecake Factory
    The Chart House
    Blue Water Grill
    Kincaid's

All of beautiful views and the food at the last 3 is wonderful, not a cheesecake factory fan so I can't speak to their food but the  view is excellent.

I'm in the same boat..looking for a *budget* friendly venue. Wedgewood isn't too pricey and includes everything. The have several locations in Cali. I'm still looking for a place to rent that I can bring in all my own alcohol without paying a corkage fee per bottle...anyone have any suggestions.

The Norris Pavillion or Center in RPV, i think.   I checked it out but it was not "geographically disireable" for our guest list.  They allow you to bring in your own food/ alcohol and they are very reasonable because they're non-profit.  The venue includes tables and chairs. We toured it and were seriously considering it. Good luck!

Do you know the cost of The Norris Center? Or the time you have to end the reception?
