Key West Wedding Locations

Hi Everyone! My sister just got engaged last night! WHOO HOO! We are from Mass and she is looking into doing a destination wedding in Key West. She would like to have a ceremony on the beach and a nice dinner somewhere. Since we aren't from the area, I figured I would reach out to ladies that know the area well and can help recommend some locations. She would like sunset on the beach. Budget is unknown, but nothing too expensive. She is also looking at November of 2010 (hopefully the weather is still nice for us northern folks) :)Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

I don't think the sun sets on the ocean in Florida ... but hey, since it's Key West, and you can look at both sides, maybe!I've heard of the Rusty Pelican. Page knottie citytoshore, she got married there, and her wedding was beautiful!

If you pick a location on the west coast of the keys (don't remember if it's harbor side or ocean side.. might be harbor) you'll get to see the sun set on the ocean. Knottie Octoberbride09 is getting married in Islamorada at Pierre's next month. It's still in the keys! They have a beachside spot for ceremonies and you can have the reception inside. www.pierres-restaurant.com GL! =) I love that place.. lol

I don't know much about doing a wedding in Key West, but the Casa Marina and the Hyatt are both nice hotels on the water. Depending on the size, you may also have other options, such as a vacation home or restaurant.

I know it's not Key West, but we're getting married in Key Largo at the Dove Creek Lodge. They have a good deal for 'ceremony only' weddings and there is a great restaurant next door called Snappers. We were going to do the same thing your sister wants to do (ceremony then dinner somewhere) but since Snappers is the caterer they work with anyways - we decided to have the full-on ceremony and reception at the Dove Creek Lodge. Hope that helps your sister! I'm from MN so I know what you mean about it being nice weather in FL!

The Westin owns a private island called Sunset Key that is a short (5 min) ferry ride from Key West. There is also a restaurant right on the beach there that you can have the reception right after. They quoted me $3000 to get married on the beach there, so if you could share your budget for this, I could help you a lot more.  We were going to do the same thing, but because a lot of our family couldnt get down there because of age, we changed it.Page me if you need any additional info.
