Need DJ

Looking for an AFFORDABLE DJ that is not ridiculously priced during an off season wedding date and day. Any suggestions?

What's affordable depends on the person - what is your budget for a DJ? I am getting married on a Monday in November, and I got two quotes for about $1000 for a full day - ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, for about 7 hours of work. Let me know if you are interested in contact info.

Well I guess I'm having a hard time comprehending why a DJ would get paid more than $100/hr. It seems that anything service oriented with weddings people get paid over $100/hr and I'm frustrated with it! I may be contacting you for their information and I appreciate your help and response.

The cost of their setup is very expensive so they need to make that cost back in what they charge.

I have been struggling with that DJ issue and the cost...still have not booked yet...my wedding is coming up. After much research, all the ones with good review and reputations are 1000 and above. People have used DJs for 500 to 600 bucks and some turned out ok and some turned out really bad. So, other brides have been telling me that you get what you pay for. It seems like anything around 1000 offers good service that you can trust.

We are using JSquared Audio - Joe Clark is the guy's name.  He charges $850 for doing the reception or $1100 for ceremony and reception.  Joe doesn't charge a per hour rate which I like.  Our reception is 6 hours long plus he arrives at least a couple hours early to get things started so we are essentially getting him for 8 hours plus for just $850 which I think is great!

Well, around the $1000 mark I can recommend Big Fun DJ, which is who we're using. We also talked to Fog City Entertainment and liked them a lot - we went with the other guys because they had more experience working at our particular venue and came highly recommended by a few people we trust.
