I know we have talked about wedding songs, entrance songs etc. What are some good songs to play at the reception???? I am not having a SA DJ-but he will play whatever I want. I will hear a song and say-yeah-I like that one. But I can't ever think of names or artists. As I am writing this-I realized my guests will be so "confused"-we are having salsa, merengue, r&B, jazz, hip hop, indian, arabic...

    We're finalizing ours, and I'll post it when I get it finished, but the song from Kaminey is pretty big now, I think - Dhan Te Nan Aaja Aaja. It's really fun and I think would be a big hit on the dance floor. I found it on iTunes. I also think there may have been some good ones in Love Aaj Kal. I feel you - I love Latin music so I'm hoping to sneak some in.

    Great list so far!  Love Aaj Kal has a couple: Twist and Aahun Aahun and Chor Bazaari.  I prefer the remixed version of them available on the movie soundtrack.  All are also available on iTunes.

    Thank you so much for asking this and thank you all for the great answers - I was going to post the exact same thing sometime this week. Our playlist is due to our DJ next week and I know nothing about south asian/bollywood/whatever music!

    Thought I'd also add Om Mangalam (RDB Remix) and Bebo (original version) from Kambakkt Ishq off the soundtrack.  Bebo has a very late 70s early 80s disco vibe to it. I dont' know if anyone mentioned them but other movie soundtracks to check out are Singh is King, Dostana, and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.  Marjaani Marjaani from Bilu Barber, Lucky Boy form Bachna Ae Haseeno, Jhalak Dikhlaja from Aksar, Mast Kalandar from Heyy Babyy, and Lal Ghagra Feat. E=MC by Undisputed and Sahara (not in a movie).

    I also have a list of all the songs that our DJ played throughout the night (SA and non-SA dance songs, and soft SA music during dinner) if anyone wants that.  Email me at mandv.wedding09 at gmail Also another good semi-SA song to add to your lists is my new obsession - Jay Sean "Down"  :-)
