Ceremony ideas?

We are fiiiiiiiiinally meeting with our pastor to go over our ceremony this weekend & I don't feel prepared. We are not doing the unity candle or sand ceremony. I like the idea of the blessing of the hands, but FI doesn't seem excited about it. Any other ideas for some other unique addition to the ceremony? We will also be having one or two scripture readings.

We did a ceremony focusing on "LOVE" instead of GOD. It's a little different than a traditional ceremony. We are also breaking it up a little bit with 2 readings. One is from the Notebook and the other one is from The Velveteen Rabbit. You could add readings in to make people laugh, cry, and just feel good!!

Aw is the reading about being "real" from the Velveteen Rabbit?? I love that one (and it was one of my fav. books as a kid)! But sadly, FI shot it down.

This may not be much help- but I was watching Get Married on TV the other day- and they showed this thing... It's the outside of a cross (the man puts that on a base) and then the inside thats pretty and feminine and the woman inserts that into the cross... hang on- haha - let me google it and see if I can find it!

"You could pass a length of ribbon through the rows, and during the ceremony, have your rings threaded along the ribbon by your guests so each can "bless" the marraige before you slip them on"  (Martha Stewart Weddings Spring 2009)I was thinking of doing something like this but instead of passing the ribbon through all of the pews, maybe just immediate family in the first pew or two.  Good Luck!
