Help... we need to find a Venue!!

We are newly engaged and searching for a venue. We have looked at 15 + and really like the looks of Parker Villa (except for $) , Hudson Garden (except it's a little cookie cutter) we liked some of the hotels, (except there are so many hidden fees). We are looking to do an friday evening wdding with appitizers, cocktails and cake after. I'd really like to do something outdoor/indoor and garden feel is good, but don't want to spend half our budget on the venue. We are really open to ANY thoughts and suggestions. HELP!!! Thank you, Newly engaged and Clueless

I have posted on here about this for others, but it sounds like what you may be looking for.  We are getting married at the Bertolin barn in Longmont, right off of I-25.  It is normally a bluegrass music venue and is a private residence- they rebuilt and refurbished an old barn and it is beautiful!  It is extremely affordable and you bring in all your own catering etc.  I think it runs about $250 an hour with tables and chairs.  You can do inside or outside the barn with different options.  Here is the website  www.bertolinbarn.com and contact Rebecca for more info- 720-936-3908.  GL!

We looked at similar locations and I just wanted to recommend our venue - HRTM Event Center at DU.  It is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!  I absolutely loved it.  We got the whole building for the entire day.  The ballroom is two stories with a wine cellar where we had the bar.  It's also indoor-outdoor and if it's nice they'll set up cocktail tables outside on the patio.  Also, it was very affordable.  They have their own kitchen and do all food and bar through the venue, but the venue, bar and food total was under 5k and everyone raved about the food.  The chef is former chef at Capital Grille.  Let me know if you want any additional info!  Good Luck!

The lodge at cathedral pines in the springs is fabulous and way affordable. I believe for a Friday it is $750 for the venue for 8 hours, tables/chairs (100), coordinator and clean up crew, and a full catering kitchen. Plus you can use whatever vendors you like with no restrictions.

I loved my venue!  It was the Curtis Ballroom on the top floor of the Comedy Works in the DTC.  It's brand new with a modern and clean feel and has a gorgeous outdoor private patio with a view of the mountains and downtown.  My guests raved about it.  And if the Comedy Works thing throws you off, don't worry -- you have a completely private entrance!  My planning bio has some pics.

Stonebrook Manor has outdoor garden space, and is very affordable. The Grant Humphreys mansion is amazing, and The Dove House in Lafeyette is beautiful too. Oh! And Red Rocks is an amazing venue as well!  Did you check out the Tapestry House in Ft. Collins?

Have you got your dress yet? I know a great lady that does alterations, Cathy (719) 433-4877. Her prices are reasonable, and her work is exceptional!

I second Stonebrook Manor in Thornton. They have a great deal going on right now (at least they did 2 weeks ago). Check it out!

I will "third" Stonebrook Manor. We are getting married there next September and were very impressed with their packages. We went in thinking we'd have hors' d oeuvres and cocktails only (to save $) and ended up with a full meal thanks to the package and deals they've got. Plus, although it's still in town which is super convenient, the gardens are beautiful and quite peaceful. Good luck!

Honestly it seems like March is usually the snowiest month here in colorado.  It might be better toward the end of March, but expect some uncertainty....

Has anyone had any experience with DU's Daniel's College of restaurant and hotel management? We toured it today and liked the layout but the lady who had the pricing was not there. Thanks so much you guys!!!
