Doing my trial on the day of my shower: bad idea?

I setup my trial at 9am on the day of my bridal shower, which is at 11:30. That gives us about 2 hours for hair and airbrush makeup. The owner of the salon says this will be enough time (and i do believe her) but I figured I would ask around - how long did your hair and makeup trials take? And..do you think it would look stupid to have full bridal hair and makeup at my shower? (I'm doing a loose, half updo so I don't expect it to look super formal, but still.. I don't want to look too overdone for my shower). Thoughts?

I don't think it's a BAD idea at all, but I'd probably ask your salon to take the hair out once you're happy with it. Just to keep your bridal look a surprise, KWIM?

I think it is a great idea! That way you can get your closest friends and family's honest opinions and you can show it off! You might want a little more time if you are doing both your hair and makeup trials, just so you dont feel rushed. My makeup trial was about an hour and a half and hair was an hour.

Mandafly has a point. Maybe have the look modified a bit to keep your wedding day look a surprise but still have a cute style for the shower?

Hmm, now I'm wondering if 2 hrs will be cutting it close...I already have her coming in at 9 on a Saturday to do my trial. Do you think it would be rude to ask her to change it to 8:30, just to be safe? I don't want to be a bridezilla, but I imagine she is used to working around crazy bridal schedules (it's Dana Bartone). I'm getting airbrush too, so I would think that might take a little longer...

You will probably be fine. Especially if she is aware that you need to be done in 2 hours. Airbrush is super fast. I think mine just took a little longer because I had her tweak my eye makeup a little bit and she took before and after photos. (I used Naomi's salon in Hartford and she is amazing) I dont know how fast Dana is, but I wouldnt worry about it too much. Also, its your shower so it is alright if you happen to be a little late

Ok, I'm not freaking out as much anymore

If she says she can do it in 2 hours, I trust her. She has such a great reputation. Realistically, if my hair and makeup takes longer than 2 hours, I think I'm going to start getting antsy anyways! Good to know that airbrush is super fast - for some reason i was under the impression that it takes longer. But I guess it makes sense that it's quicker. I can always be fashionably late!

I would just be nervous that I would look overly made up for my shower...and I would also be nervous I wouldn't like it..

That being said, Dana has an awesome reputation, and if you feel comfortable then go for it! I would trust her..
