im moving to atlanta area early next year.  we are getting married summer 2013 in dawsonville.  im afraid there might not be anything for guest to do in and around the area

any suggestions?

    I grew up close to there. PP has good advice about outlet mall and lake lanier, though it can be kind of difficult to find a public lake park if you're not familiar with the area. Further north into Dahlonega has some good attractions-- gold mines and a beautiful state park called Amicalola Falls with a waterfall. There are also lots of orchards that will probably be in the middle of peach season and Dahlonaga has a suprisingly good winary scene. 

    Downtown Atlanta is a good 45-60 minute drive from D-ville, so it might honestly be a little far to drive for your guests. If not though, Piedmont Park, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and the Atlanta Zoo are also some great things to see. If the Braves are in town and they have time to kill, I would certainly recommend that.
