Birdcage Veil Length Suggestions

I would like to wear a birdcage veil for my wedding, but not sure what length to get. Since I will most likely order one off line I would appreciate any suggestions you may have on a good length. I've seen them range from about 9 inches long to 14 inches long.

I want the birdcage comb to clip into a bun at the back of my head with the veil coming forward and down across my eyes in an angle, but not covering the full face.

I appreciate any advice!

    I think you would be ok with a 9 inch veil if you only want it to semi cover your eyes/face.

    But if your really want to make sure why not take a piece of string and hold one end where you believe the top of your bun with be and then pull the string forward to the point on your face where you want the veil to end.  Then measure the distance between the two points. This will give you the best idea of how long to order the veil

    You may want a little extra length if you plan on wearing false eyelashes.

    I wanted the same look you did but I had my hair trial and makeup trial on different days and did not think about larger eyelashes getting stuck in the birdcage veil.

    The day of my wedding I ended up shifting the veil to go over my hair instead of my face becasue the eyelashes kept getting stuck.  It still looked beautiful but if I had a little more length on the veil to begin with it probably would have worked the way I wanted it. (see pic below)
