Soooo nervous....

So, I am new to this and we have a real tight budget. I want to have a beach wedding, and we do not have a solid date yet just sometime next year. Has anyone ever had or been to a wedding at Ocean Breeze training Center at NS Mayport? I want to have the Ceremony on the beach then go straight into a reception. I just need ideas for the reception location decent priced that I can bring my own caterer to. Please help, Thank you.

I have been to a wedding with reception to follow at the Ocean Breeze. It was beautiful, a little hot in September, though. The one thing I will say, the chairs they had out for the beach ceremony had deff spent time in the sun. Anyone wearing dark colors had white marks on them from the plastic chairs. That would be the one thing I really look at if you plan on booking there.

That's where I'm getting married in October!  It's So beautiful and right within my tight budget.

Ocean Breeze will not let you bring in an outside caterer.  But after you see their prices, you won't want to.  Not to mention you are paying 18% gratuity (as opposed to about 22% at most other places) and no sales tax.

If you are not military, you will just need to get a military sponsor so you can get married there.  (i'm not military, my sister's boyfriend sponsored us)

Libby Swim has been a pleasure to deal with, a little slow on responding to emails, but once she does, she gets all of my questions answered.

I'm having a civil ceremony on the beach, and since those are usually very quick, I'm only renting a few chairs (for the older people who can't stand well).

Please feel free to ask me whatever you need to...

I'm not from that area, so I'm not much help.  But I just wanted to say welcome and that if you ever have budget questions or need help, come over to the budget board.  I'm the mod over there and the girls are really helpful.

    Hi!

Another location that you may not have considered is Hanna Park. Not sure which is cheaper but I think you can bring a caterer. Its called Dolphin Plaza and its right on the beach. You can get married on the sand and then walk up to the reception. I have been to a wedding there and it was hot but very nice.
