We are meeting with our baker on Wednesday! What are some questions I should ask??

I haven't done this yet but here is what I came up with off the top of my head.

How much per slice?

How much extra for a particular flavor, filling or icing?

Can you do a smaller presentation cake with sheet cake in the back?

Is there a delivery charge?

Do you provide flowers for the cake or can your florist supply them?

If they won't let your florist supply them, how much are flowers for your cake?

Do we give the cake topper to the baker or does someone at the function hall put it on?

Are there any other extra charges you might not be aware of?

OMG!! Bring me back some CAKE!! I think cake tasting was one of my most favorite checks. DH and I had so much fun. Bring a camera, not just to capture the style of cakes, but also cause it's a nice planning memory.

Some questions:

Are you familiar with my venue, have you delivered a cake there before, do you know the coordinator?

Not a deal breaker if not, just gives you an idea of how much you need to manage ahead of time.

Who sets up the cake you or the venue? (just confirm the details with your venue)
What do you recommend for a surrounding display? Can you provide that?
Back up plan for disaster? (delivery driver is ill, there's a flood between them and your venue that kind of stuff)

Obviously, any special requests. My baker went on a hunt for our sitting cake topper that would be an appropriate size for a tiney greay cat figurine that I wanted on the cake.
