Reeves-Reed Arboretum--any info anyone?

Hey all,

So my search for a venue has brought me towards Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit, NJ. It's conveniently close to where I live and absolutely gorgeous. Of course, I've found it on the weekend and I'm anxiously waiting for Monday so I can pester their offices for information about pricing and what have you, since none of that information is available...anywhere that I can see.

Does anyone have any info about having a wedding at the arboretum (just to assuage my need to know NOW lol)? Any experiences there, either as a bride or a guest or what have you?

My venue is around the corner, The Grand Summit, it is recommended we take our pics there and an attraction for my guests who stay.. good luck!

I tried to respond several times with no luck, what's up knot?!

Anyway! Thanks - I had scoured their webpage with no luck! After receiving no callbacks, I stalked the venue and managed to snag the woman I needed to talk to this morning, so I have all my numbers and everything.

But if anyone is ever looking for info on this place again, here it is...

    Ceremony only (up to 75 guests) - $700 ($1500 w/tent)
    Ceremony only (over 75 guests) - $1000 ($1800 w/tent)
    Wedding with reception (up to 75) - $2000 ($3000 w/tent)
    Wedding with reception (over 75) - $3000 ($4000 w/tent)

This doesn't include tent and permit fees ($42 tent fee in Summit, NJ; Must insure the wedding at $1mil, so will vary depending on who you insure with)

    Booking fee is $150
Fee to use their grand piano (if you want to) is $100
Damage deposit is equal to 50% of what you pay

The inside of Wisner House can have a sit-down reception with up to 50-60 people, but they can accommodate people in tents out in the Azalea Garden up to 130 people sitting or the upper lawn up to 100 people sitting.

They only have a total of 60 chairs and 14 tables, so you'd need to rent if you have more people.

    And that's about it :)

hi!! I just looked into this venue but I want to know more nformation.  do i need to get insurance for this venue and is that the cost for everyone?  I try to contact someone but im not having an easy time...

Those prices are for everyone--although you could try and negotiate, if you like. Thing is, the price is only for renting the location and not for things like food and linens, so there's not much room to negotiate. You do have to insure the location. I believe when I did a quote on the place it was something like $150 dollars.
Joyce can be difficult to get a hold of at first. She does NOT work Mondays and can sometimes take a couple of days to respond to your phone call (until you decide to actually put money down, then she gets back to you real quick hah).
