Card boxes?

Have any of you made or bought a box for guests to place giftcards in at the reception? That's the last thing on my DIY list, and I'm so tired of doing stuff that I'm inclined to just buy something. Thoughts on something readymade or super easy? The premade stuff I'm seeing around is all stark white, which does not match our theme at all.

I bought one online -- a bit pricey though but I hope to use it post wedding to store things like our wedding album, etc. like a keepsake box -- http://theperfectcardbox.com/ Alternatively, I've seen some on Etsy and you could get one that matches your theme better. HTH!

My mom ended up making mine and I don't think DIY is too difficult.  Buying is definintely much easier :-)Try etsy.  Or you could get a birdcage (and if you only find one in white, you could spray paint it another color to match your decor).  A few of the girls on my local board have used creativecustomcardboxes.com

Also try places like Home Goods, Michaels, AC Moore, Target, etc. for interesting boxes that could double as a card box.  I've also heard of people using small wooden chests as card boxes.

I bought a stark white bird cage card holder and plan to spray paint it gold and hot glue some gems and pieces of sari fabric to match my theme.

Thanks ladies! I can't believe how fast time is flying! We're just 17 days away!

I used the ever-popular bronze-y colored birdcage from Save on Crafts (via Craigslist b/c I'm cheap like that).  Since my wedding, two of my friends have actually used it.  It's been quite handy around here.  Looks like you can only buy two at a time these days (mine is the 17inch one):http://www.save-on-crafts.com/birdcages.html

D2M - That looked awesome! I went ahead and bought them. I'm thinking I can stuff programs in the smaller one. Thanks!

Glad to be of help!  Our birdcage was super functional and I liked the way it looked.  If you lived closer, I totally would have let you borrow mine.

I love those birdcages, I've been coveting them forever, but my mom actually got our decorator to throw in one for free, so we're using that (no idea what it's going to look like but i think brass with some design).
