I just got mine today! We went to the County Clerk's Office in Oakland. It cost $84 and we only needed our IDs. We brought our birth certificates just in case, but we didn't need it.

Yeah, you don't need your birth certificate, just your ID. We got ours in San Mateo County and I believe it was $74.

It can be drastically different by county.  Who knew that San Diego would be cheaper than Yolo County?  It is only $50 in SD and $97 in Yolo.  Guess where we are getting ours.

Ours was $84 in Sacramento County... we just got it the other day. Oh and if you were divorced within 90 days of the license being issued, you need to bring your divorce papers.... I read that on the site where we did an electronic application and scheduled our appointment.... I would check it out online... they should be able to tell you how much it is for your county!
