Small Wedding or Big Wedding?

Hello Ladies, I'm stressing out per usual. My wedding is currently booked at the Hard Rock Hotel for November of 2010 with a guest list of 125 people and a bridal party of 10. I'm seriously considering canceling at the HR and having a much smaller wedding of 50 people at Candelas in Coronado and no bridal party at all. Has anyone else had an event at Candelas? I dont want to give up on the dream of the big wedding but I also can't see myself spending 25-30k on a wedding. So, Candelas? Any thoughts?

    You can have a bigger wedding--aprox 100 people, and not spend 30K. I think it's all about the venue and the food, because that will be the biggest cost. I had a wedding with 90 people, and spend about 15K. Is is 10 people in a bridal party or no one? Or could it be half that size? If you rent a community center, you can bring in a catering company you choose, and then that can really cut down on costs. The Coronado Community Center is a great option. There are also a ton of things you don't HAVE to have, even with a bigger wedding: expensive dress favors special linens/chair covers tons of flowers expensive photographer videography custom invites personalized cocktail napkins, lighting, monograms, etc By being very budget conscious on those things alone, you could save 5-8K.

    You also have to do a lot of comparing and shopping around. Dont settle for anything right away or leave deposits until you are sure you have a few different options and price ranges from different vendors. I compared many different vendors for flowers, cake, limo, invitations and photography and I was able to have my dream wedding for 15K with 200 guests and open bar!

    m1salas... can you send me your vendor list. I am amazed that you got all of that 15k.... i would love to use your vendors? where was wedding located at?
