Having wedding envy

....i'm having wedding envy. My photog keeps posting her weddings on her blog and I'm worried our wedding wont be cool enough, nice enough, "posh" enough to meet her expectations. How crazy is that - we love our photog and had used her before so we knew we wanted to splurge with her, but doing so meant skimping on other things. Now with like 16 dyas I want to add 101 more things, like a candy buffet, and upgrade our linens even more and our flowers and such.

This is exactly why I don't go on wedding blogs or read wedding magazines and barely go on The Knot anymore. Every time I do, I feel bad about something I'm not doing and want to spend more money. It's bad for my health.

I think it's normal with all the amazing things out there for weddings. Don't worry about it. Just remember what you wanted in the beginning. Your wedding is going to be beautiful and unique in its own ways.

You did the right thing and hired an amazing photographer. Your photographer will be able to capture your wedding beautifully and make the special details you DO have, really shine! Don't worry - your wedding will be amazing!

I totally went through the same thing- especially since our photog never posted a teaser or blogged about us!  They said they use their blog as a "marketing tool" and that they just use it to reach who they want to "market to".  I thought it was a bunch of BS- if you see their blog, it's clearly slighted towards a certain demographic.  It made me feel like we weren't good enough for them or that they weren't proud of the work they did at my wedding.ANYWAY, everyone I've talked to has commented on how great the wedding was, but I'll be honest, there were things I wish I had done differently.  Oddly, I find comfort in knowing that there will ALWAYS be someone with a more expensive and elaborately planned wedding.  It doesn't mean mine was ghetto.  I was happy that I had my family, friends, and husband there- and we all had a wonderful time.  We did the wedding without any debt afterwards and we've moved on to "real" life, which has been so much fun- and more rewarding than a 1 day party!  I am SO sure your wedding will be awesome, and I really do love your photog (wish I had her too...).  She posted your epics right?  I'm sure everything will be fine.

How many women out there get to have the love that you have? The one where you get to be with the man of your dreams? For me, I don't care what everyone else is doing.... I got the fairytale with my prince charming after having been married to the beast! lol... I don't care what I have or don't have... my wedding is going to be the best because who I get to share my life with in the long run is the most fantastic thing that could happen to me! Don't feel envious... you get to have your dream and that is all that matters!!! :-) I think you did the right thing by getting the great photographer that will have the vision to capture the LOVE of your day!!
