Wrong lyrics..

I know this has been done here before, but what songs did you always THINK you knew the lyrics to?I usually jam out to some old school/classic rock to get through the day and ZZ Top's Sharp Dressed Man just came on.. I remember as a kid thinking the lyrics were Cuz every girls crazy 'bout a short dressed man.

Haha My favorite one is "Mamma Mia" my mom used to listen to ABBA all the time when I was younger so I made up my own lyrics to the songs. Instead of saying "here I go again" I made up something like "cheeseola" I have no idea where I came up with that and I assume I must have been hungry. I always think of that whenever I hear the song

My dad's name is Lionel.  Until a few years ago I thought the song Steve Miller song "Big Old Jet Airliner" was saying "Big Old Jed and Lionel, don't carry me too far away" I also thought "Rhythm is Gonna Get You" was saying "Brittany is gonna get you"  I thought it was about a mean girl named Brittany. THere is a youtube video about misheard lyrics to the Pearl Jam song Yellow Ledbetter that is one of the funniest video's I've ever seen!  It is really worth watching.  I can't link to it from here, but if you search for "misheard lyrics Yellow Ledbetter" in youtube it should be the first choice.

There's a song called "Reminiscing" (I think it's by the Little River Band).  I thought they were singing "We'll go dancing in the dog."  It's really "We'll go dancing in the dark, walking through the park and reminiscing."  My brother thought Sade's "Smooth Operator" was "Smooth Alligator".

Alanis Morisette "You Oughta Know" I used to swear she'd sing "It's not fair to deny me of the cross-eyed-bear that you gave to me." Of course she's saying "cross I bear".

You guys are too young to know this, but there is a 1976 song by some band called Manfred Man's Earth band called "Blinded by the Light."  There is a line that says"revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night"It sounds like "wrapped up like a douche."  Seriously.

When I was little I would hear it and go, "That can't be what they are saying."  But for the life of me, I couldn't figure it out.

Stephie - I thought it was "wrapped up like a douche" too, until you just now said the right lyrics!I still think the song that goes "Hush, hush, keep it down now, voices carry" sounds like "Hush, hush, keep it down now, Princess Carrie"
