MIA

Hey everyone.  I know I'm still relatively new and still shy on the boards so I end up lurking most of the time, but just a tiny update on me.  The company I worked for has me filling in for a lady they fired a few weeks ago so I've been working my butt off! I've been MIA for a couple weeks but I'm here and ready to knot!!And on a side note, we've kind of put our wedding plans on the back burner for a little while.  FI's little sister just announced her engagement and they're planning to have the wedding this next March (kinda soon?).  I'm not sure if the plans will go through or not since she and her fiance are both really young (19 and 20) but we don't want any "thunder stealing" negativity in the fam so we're on pause (for now).

Hi Emily! Good to see you on here again and super cute new siggy! Is that at the Bellagio in Vegas? Sorry to hear about the back burner thing. I dont think too many people will feel like youre a thunder stealer though. If anything, I would think it would be the other way around and people would think that about the little sister. Either way everything happens for a reason so maybe this will just give you that much more time to plan your dream wedding :)

aw thanks Amber.. i think its inside the wynn in vegas but im not sure we took a million pictures, and Leo hates them all because of the glare on his glasses.  I'm not too worried about the sister thing, i was at first i'll admit, but i think they are being ridiculous! they want to get married in March and then they asked if they can move in with us!!

don't get me wrong-- I'm all for helping out family, but she's 19 and lives with mom and dad, and they don't want her to leave so theres no reason for her (and her husband) to need to move in with us.

Hi! Glad you were able to stop by =) That is nice of you to put your plans on hold for your sister. I always cringe when I hear people getting married that young. No matter what the maturity level is there is still so much life experience and growning one needs to do at that age. What is the hurry?

yeah I'm really scared for her.  they've been engaged a few weeks now, and one week shes pumped for the wedding and then the next week she's having second thoughts.  I understand a little case of nerves right before the wedding but it just doesnt seem like she fully understands what she's getting herself in to .  i told her not to rush, and to let it happen when it happens, there's nothing wrong with a long engagement.

Hey Em, welcome back!!Definitely do not let them move in, living with other people (esp. younger women who have never lived with anyone but mom and dad) is just going to stress you out. I think that it's a good thing for you to pause things for now, while she has her thing. Not because you'd be thunder stealing, but like Amber said they'd be stealing your thunder and I think you two deserve the spotlight for your wedding events. Everything will work out for you and it will be even better than  you imagined-trust me! FI and I waited 5 years to get married :)Also ditto Amber, cuuuuuuuute siggy!

Thank you guys so much!! I feel relieved knowing that I'm not crazy for not wanting to let them live here.  Leo told me last night that he's glad we're going to spend more time planning, so we can show their wedding up!! LOL silly...but true :)

Hahaha you and your FI are funny! We were kind of the same way too. There were 3 of us that all got engaged around the same time and were planning our weddings together. The 2 were dead set on getting married really fast and I was totally fine with that because then it gave me the chance to learn from their weddings and do a better job with mine ;)

How weird, we had the same situation Amber, there were three other couples that got engaged the same time we did also. Everyone was probably a little bit secretly competitive, but after our wedding I was reading FB statuses that were saying that we set the bar really high for the remaining two (by the couples), so that felt good to read!
