Flowers

Hi Ladies,I just got my first quote on flowers and I am not really sure if it is a good price or not.  The quote was around $5,500 for everything, what do you think?  If you don't mind me asking around how much are you paying?Thanks!!!!-Erin

Sorry, I haven't done the flowers yet and the ladies on this site varied GREATLY as to the price of their flowers. (I mean from $1k to $10k!) What exactly are you getting for that price? If you have a lot of bouquets and tall centerpieces, that's probably the average quote you'll get from any florist, maybe a little bit more. I'm looking to spend around $3k for mine, if that helps. (PIB of what I'd like to do for flowers!)

I just did flowers, got three quotes...what does this quote include?

It depends on the number of people and the kinds of decorations you're having. We're having a huppah but we don't want it heavily adorned with flowers. We each have four attendants, and we're guestimating 20 tables, and my quotes have all come back in the 3-4k range. I don't know the size of your party, but $5500 seems high to me. However, it also depends on the scale of your wedding and your total budget.

Thanks ladies!! The $5500 is for the centerpieces (guestamating 20 tables), boquets (13 including mine), boutinieers (11), 8 corsages for people participating in the wedding ceremony (outside of the bridal party), flowers in church, ribbons in church, 1 center piece for my & fi's table at the wedding, set up & break down.  At first I thought this sounded reasonable but now I am thinking the price is a little high.  What do you think? Thanks again!!-Erin

the 2 i went to were very expensive.... we didn't shop around too much. we will pay between $8 and $9K, and that includes 2 corasges, 13 boutteniers, 8 bouquets, the chuppah (about $1000), almost 30 tables, and some other decorative flowers. we also got a little money off because our centerpieces have less flowers (more branches) than the typical centerpieces.

Thanks ladies!! We are planning on going to 2 more places and then making our final decesion.  Is anyone in here having their reception at the Fox Hollow?  One of the places we are going to is the perfect wedding planners for both the invitations & flowers.  Has anyone dealt with them? Thanks again!!!

That's way too high. Also, just a thought but it's a way to save a little, skip the centerpiece on your table and let your girls' bouquets decorate it. I'm probably going with Madison and Co. in Rockville Centre - just met with them, they do BEAUTIFUL work and it's the best price of all the people I've met with. But definitely shop around - I have a similar number of tables and although my bridal party is smaller, the quotes I've been given are 2k less.

It sounded high to me, too, but I haven't done the shopping yet. Burtons does a great job, have been around forever, and tend to come out below many others. The caterer is going to send us to someone he knows who will beat Burtons and who does wonderful work. When I get the referral, I'll let you know. Good luck

That is high but you are having A LOT...I'm having 10-12 tables, 6 GM boots, 7 BM bouquets, 2 mom's & 2 grams corsages, cocktail table flowers, card table flowers, cake flowers, flower transportation etc. for $2,000.  You should shop around more.  If you really love the place, find a few lower prices and bring them to that florist, I bet they'll be a bit more flexible once they have competition.
