Girls Trip while married?

Is it okay or not? Before getting married I had an annual BFF trip. Totally normal, DH never said no. Now that we are married though I feel weird about asking if it's okay to go out of ton with friends. What is your take on it? Oh and is it okay for a guys trip?

I agree with a boys/girls trip. Scot takes his Fantasy Football trip every year. Some of the married men were not allowed to go without the wives so all the girls were invited. I had a great time but I really feel that there is nothing wrong with an annual trip with your friends without your partner. I feel it is healthy for our relationship.

I think it is okay. Alot of my girl friends are in relationships so I know it wouldn't be a major "picking up guys" event or anything like that. DH wouldn't mind. Some of DH's guy friends are dogs, even some of the taken ones but I would still trust him to go...

I think it's not only okay, but necessary! My DH and his "guys" go on some adventure trip every year. Hiking the Grand Canyon, kayaking the devil's river, etc. His friend's have all been married at least 8 years a piece and it's never stopped them.I am currently planning a b-day trip with my bff for our 25th since we have the same b-day.I think it would be silly to stop just b/c we are married.

I agree, I guess my dad gets in my head! He is old school and says it doesn't look right for me to go without DH out of town. Luckily I trust him and would be okay with him doing a guys trip.( he never has) He has never said I couldn't but I just get weirded like it something only single girls do lol

I think it's okay as long as it doesn't happen on like an important day for us and it's planned plenty in advance. I don't like last minute things.

MIL is like that too!! She thinks DH and I should never go out seperately and that going to bars only causes trouble in the marriage. I told DH maybe that is the case with her no trust relationships but not us. Nothing personal against MIL but her boyfriend is not the best partner..

Yeah DH is way okay with me having dinner or drinks with friends.( as long as I give him a couple days notice so he can plan something too even sometimes if its last minute he just says okay) April- I tell my dad who does it look bad too?! LOL like who is sitting there watching us?

I wouldn't really ask him, I would jsut tell him if it was something I wanted to do. Of course I would listen if he has any concerns, but we have discussed this, and he wouldn't care at all if I went on a trip with one of my best girlfriends or a group of girls.

I think its a must, I would go insane without a little girl time, although I end up calling DH throughout the entire trip anyways. haha I think guys trip is okay, depending on the friends. All of DH's friends are single, only 2 are either engaged or married. So most of them are doing the who date random women no respect thing. I wouldn't really like him going with those type of friends, but I trust him so I wouldnt say no.

Kmueller...sounds like we are in the same boat with our DH's friends. One night DH went to the club with them and the guys met a group of girls and LEFT to go to the other side of town to one of the girls houses! DH had to borrow one of the guys cars to drive home from the club since he definately was not going with them...

yeah we are in a wedding coming up, the bachelor party is next weekend, they are going to a lake house. DH asked them what they planned on doing before he decided if he was going to go or not, he will be the only married guy there. He is still on the fence about going...they said nothing bad was going to happen, but the guy planning it is kinda a party-person so he really isn't sure

Damn then I must be a shitty wife since I have taken four out of town girls trips since I have been married.

I am into musicals, DH could care less. So my girlfriends and I go see plays together in Austin. They are much needed trips. Jordan secretly loves when I go out of town since he can eat tamales and cereal all weekend. Lol.

I think its fine... DH has his "boy weekends" when they go hunting. I don't see why it would be an issue unless you were doing something you shouldn't!

definitely okay. we do our own things all the time. he has been on several guy trips and i'm sure that there will be more to come. but i completely get the old school dad. my grandmother is the same way ! she gets on me all the time about the way she thinks things should be.

I think it is ok for special occasions only ( I am a little old school too). I can understand for big birthdays and bachelorette parties, but that is it.Now I do happy hours a lot or movie nights with friends.I never go to clubs or bars without my husband.

I did not mean it like that E. If happy hour extended late then oh well I am already out. I mean I don't club hop and bar hop on the weekends like I used to. Of course I do girls night outs and such. *gasp*

Trust me we have seperate lives, but I just do other things now, it is personal. Everyone's marriage is different. There is trust in our relationship.
