First Dance Song

We are having a heck of a time deciding on a first dance song....he thinks of more rock songs and I think of Country songs....we just cant seem to find one in the middle!!! What is everyone else doing?

    Well, ours was neither rock nor country, but I'll share anyway :)  We danced to Michael Buble's version of "Just the Way You Look Tonight".  It's a classic.

    This was tough for us too. We have never had "our song" so we were trying to think of a few. We always use to watch Rock of love our fav trash reality show so at one time we pick one of Bret Michael's song. BUT now we went with a country song. We listen to a little of everything but you know what we still are not settled on an exact song. We meet with our DJ on the 28th so I guess we better make our final desicion soon :) Our wedding is only 37 days away!!!!!!!!!

    We will be dancing to "Lucky" by Jason Mraz. There is a message board for First Dances and I have gotten lots of great ideas from there. They've got lots of great ideas for other dances too. You should check it out!

    Most likely it will be Book of Love by Peter Gabriel. We wanted to do something kind of indie or not often heard and when it was played at the end of the scrubs "finale" we were kind of sold. We're also thinking about having Bright Eye's "First Day of My Life" incorporated somehow since its such a precious song and has a connection to Omaha

    We had a bit of a quarrel on this too.  He got fed up and basically said "pick one", so I happily did and chose Steady As We Go by Dave Matthews.  It has great lyrics and he agreed that it was a good one in the end!

    "I Could Not Ask For More" by Edwin McCain.  "True Companion" by Marc Cohn was our runner-up.And we're using "Everything" by Michael Buble in our slideshow.  I think that could be a cute first dance too but it might be a bit slow.

    wow..you all have some great Ideas!! It is really nice to have all these suggestions because some we have never even thought of :) Geesh...who would have thought it would be soo hard to pick a song!

    Our song that we have had since we have started dating was 311's love song.  He doesn't want to dance to that now but I still really like it.  Ditto to they way you look tonight but we LOVE Frank Sinatra so I would go with his verzion.  Me and You by Kenny Chesney has great lyrics

    We our dancing our first dance to: "A Whole New World" from the Aladdin movie. If you listen to the lyrics, it goes really well with our lifes and starting a new life together. We're also having our harpist play that song as we exit from the ceremony!! :)

    We did "Bella Note" from Lady and the Trampy. It was the first movie we ever watched together so it meant a lot to us.

    I'm a little late in posting, but we're doing "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra.  He has a lot of more peppy songs if you are looking for songs that aren't too slow (Fly Me To the Moon comes to mind).  But since you were thinking country or rock, these songs might not be your cup of tea.

    I'm a HUGE U2 fan, so we're planning on "All I Want" too! I love that song! Of course I may change my mind again by the time the wedding rolls around...
