Seeing the Groom on Wedding Day Before Ceremony??

My photography has asked if FI and I want to see each other before the actual ceremony the day of the wedding.  I know this is becoming more and more popular.  He said it would provide us with a lot more time to take pics we really would like to have, including photos not taken at the site we are getting married at,  but I'm traditional and like the idea of FI seeing me the first time coming down the aisle.  What have you ladies done (if married) or are planning to do for your wedding day, would like to hear your thoughts...thanks.

    We are spending the night before together, so I will see him the morning of. Then we'll see each other before the ceremony to take pictures, and because he asked that we do it that way because he thinks it'll help with his nerves  :)

    We saw each other before.  I had to talk FI into it because he was the traditional one, but it gave us tons more time for pictures and totally helped calm my nerves.  I cried when I saw him and then I was able to keep it together during the ceremony.  I think I would have been a mess if I hadn't seen him.  To us it just made so much more sense because our ceremony and reception were in the same place.  We wanted tons of pics of us but we didn't want our guests to wait (and get drunk) for 2 hours, especially because we had a late ceremony.  It also gave us some time together alone, which I don't think we would have gotten.  I felt like we were so busy during the reception talking to people and dancing and having a good time that we really didn't have time to just talk to each other!  Sorry for being long winded...good luck!

    Im a traditional!!!!  I also love the idea about seeing each other for the first time as i walk down the aisle. As much as i would love to get extra pics, im looking forward to the anticipation even more. Im sure our photographer will be able to get great shots no matter what.

    I didn't. My husband wanted to be traditional. I wish I had and I was trying to convince the photographer just to bring him to my room. I was a big ball of nerves. I think seeing him would have calmed me down.

    We didn't see each other before walking down the aisle. That was DH's one request. I kinda wish that we had seen each other before hand to take more pictures and not feel so rushed when we did take our pictures. But I do love that we left our moment to see each other until the ceremony, so I'm willing to be satisfied with the great pictures we did take together.

    We loved being able to see each other before for a special private moment and then take a lot of pictures before theceremony so that we could actually enjoy our cocktail hour with our guests. Seeing each other again at the ceremony was still a very special moment for us and just As emotional.

I am sooooo glad we did. But then, if you see my ceremony pics, I was a slobbery, crying, emotional mess when walking down the aisle. Had I not had that time with him beforehand, things would have been a lot uglier!!

    P.s. (delete the in the link above and) my husband was pretty adamant that he wanted "traditional" too...but he was easily convinced when the photographers AND my coordinator leaned on him a bit. Plus, I reminded him how much it would take from our cocktail hour and how much better the light would be BEFORE the ceremony (for pics). But in the end, I was glad we did it for US, not even for the cocktails or the pics. GL!

    We saw each other before and it was the best decision we could have made.  We were able to enjoy each other's reactions up close and the pics from those moments are some of my favorites from the whole day.  DH told me he was so nervous until the moment he saw me and then he remembered just how right everything was going to be.
