What did you pay -- or what are you paying...

What are you paying or what did you pay for YOUR hair and makeup in toal?....

I have yet another dilemma ....
While I've already hired a makeup artist to do mine & my bridal parties makeup. I've landed on someone who could do both MY hair & makeup <just me alone />
While I would keep the makeup artist I hired for the rest of my girls I just wonder if contractually it's going ot screw me up if I take myself out of the equation with the other makeup artist?

It will still be worth her while becuase I have 7 girls that  need to be done and the one I'd like to hire for me is for brides only - BUT she's quite costly. I just don't know how to approach the subject letting the former makeup artist know that I ummmmm will have someone else to do my makeup and hair together but would still like her to do my bridal parties makeup. I feel bad. Not sure how to handle this and I don't want to insult the girl.  I'm just throwin it out there because I haven't made any concrete decisions yet.

What do you think I should do?

What does the contract state, if it states the bride you are obligated to pay.  How much "better" was the makeup?  If it is was much better go with the new person.   Whose do your bridal parties hair? Maybe you can get the hair person to also do your hair.

I paid in total $250 (trial and day of), and I had to guarantee 3 or 4 additional people as well.

I believe I paid $150 for hair and $110 for airbrush makeup.  Both traveled to me day of.  Cost of trials was additional.
Which person did you like better?

I don't have any advice on price since I haven't looked into that yet, but for the second part of your question...

If you decide to hire the second one you could just say to the first one that because there are so many women in the bridal party, you wanted to hire someone else to focus on just you.  These are professionals and that shouldn't upset her, unless she is really touchy in which case you probably don't want to work with her anyway.

caveat to what I just said - as pp mentioned you should check your contract wording first.

    Like pp's. Check your contract.

But we went to a salon, so it was a lot less than then the normally quoted prices. $125 hair. $85 makeup.

Check to see if states that so-and-so is doing your hair and make up. Or is the date just reserved. You probably can't cancel on them now, but they might be able to do the bridal party.
    Good luck!
