*The Engineer's Club/Garrett-Jacobs Mansion*

After seeing more venues than I ever imagined seeing, I think we are going to get married at Engineer's club. I looked at the reviews on WW and they were great but wanted to see if anyone else was having their wedding there/had it there/has been there and might have some insight. My only hesitation is that we have so many people coming that tables will be set up in 2 rooms. The rooms open up into eachother but I still feel weird about the layout. What are your opinions on this? My mom says she doesn't think it's a big deal because people only sit at their tables for dinner. My thoughts we more that people would have to come into the other room and stand for the first dance, speeches, etc. I know people set up their venues like this all the time, I just never imagined doing it. What do you think!?

I went to a wedding there last year and it was beautiful, but I can't imagine having the reception split between the two rooms you're talking about. I think if it were me it would feel very separated...

My friend had her wedding there a few years ago, upstairs I remember.  Everyone sat in one room though, the food was in another room. But the openings between the rooms were huge. I remember being very close to the band but I really enjoyed the wedding. I really like the venue.  It is very beautiful but it is very spread out allows people to wonder. The dance floor was in the middle of the tables which kept everything central which I think is important.

Hi, We recently visted the Engineers Club/Garrett-Jacobs Mansion and thought it was beautiful!  I am so glad that we thought to walk in and learn more about the building.  Even without an appointment, operations manager was extemely considerate and took time out of his schedule to show us around.  It made a good impression :).  How many people do you plan to invite?  I think the layout will work out for you (are you doing a main ballroom and courtyard combination?)--the doors are wide enough to prevent guests from feeling cut off and glass to boot.  We have only started to look at venues so I will probably post for additional recs.  But, the Engineers Club was LOVELY and made us pause.
