levyland

Hi everyone!I am new to the knot and have been looking at venues. I recently came across Levyland and my fiance and I are interested, but we would like others opinions. Has anyone been married here or been to a wedding here? I would appreciate any help!

I was looking into this place to but when I mentioned it to my fiance who grew up in Carlsbad and he said the lagoon it's on has a a tendency to smell really bad

Every time I think of the lagoons up along the coast, I think about the mosquitoes in the area eating me alive...Not sure how this one near Levyland is, but if you're outside and the guests are constantly slapping their arms & legs during the ceremony, that may not be fun. :(

The website makes this place look fantastic but I went to see it in person and was VERY disappointed.  I thought it was very small and the area around it is very marshy... not grassy as it appears from areal photo.  I can only suggest you go and look at it because for the price I do not think it is worth it.

I went to an open house there once. The house itself is nice and great for a party. But the yard was kind of small where they had the chairs set up for the wedding. Also, there is no ocean view. That was a big deal to me. I thought since it was right next to the ocean there would be an ocean view, but it's about a 10 minute walk to get to the water. And yes, it is marshy and can see the potential for it to smell there.

i just went and saw the inside of levyland this past monday (my fiancee and i walked up to the estate from the beach but not inside a few days prior) and was blown away. Its such a cool place! the walk to the beach is only about a minute and the inside of the house is amazing. I was worried about the lagoon smelling but i didn't smell anything both times we saw it. The fact that you rent it for 6 days and you can leisurely set up before the actual day is so stress-free feeling. We are just waiting to sign the contracts to book the day and couldnt be more excited about levyland. Also Anne who works on the rentals is super friendly and responds quickly to any questions.
