Hi ladies...I was wondering what (in addition to excersize) you may have done or are doing to lose those extra irritating pounds. Anyone have any good secrets? TIA!! Lu
I wish I did. The best thing I have so far is Spanx. I'm ordering mine tonight. But you should check out the getting in shape board. The ladies there are great with support, food and workout tips. Good luck.
I started tracking my calories on sparkpeople . com the website is free and an eyeopener to what you are eating. I began taking spin classes at the Y. I also joined a boot camp in Bay view. So far i have lost 13 pounds in 5 weeks. Oh yes, I cut out the diet pop and starbucks! Good luck )
I started paying attention to portion size. Previously, I would have like a big bowl of Hamburger Helper or something when just a cup or so was sufficient.I also keep track of how many calories I eat in a day. And drink lots of water. I found a lot of times I thought I was hungry I was really just thirsty. I've taken off ten pounds in about 8 weeks, so it seems to be working so far!
I've done sparkpeople and weight watchers and had success with both. I've reached a plateau however and have switched to slimfast. I know, flame away, but it's just something I need to do to hopefully break out of this plateau. The slimfast plan has changed quite a bit and includes snacks and fruits/veggie requirements so I think it's pretty healthy. It's really no different from a calorie restriction diet except that I don't have to actually count.
Thanks ladies! Armst, we are actually getting married the same day! FI and I are going to train for a marathon, but I am trying to loose a few pounds fast before we start that. Thanks for the tips!
My mom is using Sparkpeople.com and has lost weight and loves the support she's been getting. If you have an Iphone, a good application to use is Lose IT! I love it because you don't have to track everything through a computer. The phone is more accessible. It gives you a set amount of calories you are allowed to eat each day based on how much weight you want to lose. I've started taking spinning classes and different workout classes that my gym offers just so my body doesn't get use to one thing. Good luck!
