Catering

We're having a really hard time finding caterers that will actually e-mail us back and give prices on their menus. Food for Forks and Piping Plover have both met with us and made menus and then left us high and dry. Anyone have any reccomendations for caterers on the Island that would travel to Orient Point? Thanks for the help!

Food for Forks not only has great food but OUTSTANDING waitstaff.  I was recently at a reception with them and was extremely impressed.  East End Entertainment provided the music, they were FABULOUS too.  Good luck.

I have two referrals: 1) We had to use a kosher caterer so our choices were a lot more limited. The one we're about to book with is Peter Schneyer at Regal Caterers. My FI has been to several parties at the place we're getting married/having our reception and raves about the food. Peter has been INCREDIBLY responsive (and there was a big caterer who was AWFUL - see other posts I've made) and really worked with us regarding price, food allergies, food preferences, and other issues. He was referred to us by a woman who has been using him to cater her parties for about 20 years. He's based out of the Dix Hills Jewish Center but told us he has done many non-Kosher parties at a lot of fancy places (including, I believe Oheka, museums, and other expensive halls). You can call him at 631-462-5229 and tell him Sandey and Steve recommended you speak with him. 2) My cousin is also a caterer and gets rave reviews on a regular basis. Her company is Elegant Eating (www.eleganteating.com). Her name is Myra and her partner's name is Neil. They have been in the business for over 20 years and have also done expensive events and smaller parties from NYC to the Hamptons (and maybe beyond. I'm not sure). They are also very responsive to clients and customer service is at the top of their priority list. They do not do Kosher catering so they weren't an option for us - plus, I don't really like to "hire" family for these types of events. I like them to be guests, not staff. Of course, please let them know Myra's cousin, Sandey, sent you to them, if you choose to call. Good luck and let me know how it goes! Sandey
