Vendor Reviews - Stationary, Hotels, Etc

Invites, etc: You're Invited A+++
I LOVED my invitation lady! Sarah is so personable, easy to work with, and really on top of her game.  She has a huge selection of products and we ended up using her for invites, programs, table numbers, guest book signs, other signs, labels for favors, gift bag labels, thank you cards, etc..  She is reasonably priced too, which I was not expecting from a "custom" invite company.  She already probably knows it, but she was by far one of my favorite vendors to work with and I can't wait for something else to come up in my life where I need nice invitations.

Hotel Blocks: Holiday Inn Express Downtown A+
We LOVED working with Jalilah and the Holiday Inn.  We also had a block at the Renaissance, but they didn't really get too personable with us.  The Holiday Inn gave us a free suite (my parents used it) and shuttles to/from the ceremony and reception for all the guests.  The inside is all re-done and the guests who stayed there loved it and said it was reasonably price (~89/night).

Rehearsal Dinner; Gordon Biersch A++
My husband's parents LOVE going out to eat at Gordon Biersch with us, so it seemed natural to have our rehearsal there since it is also downtown.  You get a private room, get to pick salad, 3 entree options, and we included house beer/wine.  You can decorate/set up the room however you want, bring a groom's cake if you want, etc. Best of all, my FIL got tons of points for every dollar spent, so he recently took us, plus my parents, out to a nice meal/drinks there for free!

I used etsy vendors for some little things - custom wine/beer glasses for bridal party, flower for my hair, wristlet for me & my MOH, program holders, card box, so message me if you want any of those details.

Re: Vendor Reviews - Stationary, Hotels, Etc

  • I never even thought of Gordon Biersch! If you don't mind me asking, what kind of prices did they offer for a private party, and did they have any restrictions (min F/B, min # guests, etc.) I'm not getting married until next May but am trying to get ideas for the RD so I can budget accordingly. =) Thanks! If you want to, you can PM me if you'd rather not post that info on here.
  • Also, do you mind me asking about You're Invited's prices? They are one of a few custom invite places I am considering at this point.
  • I haven't done my vendor reviews yet, but I just wanted to add that Sarah from You're Invited was my favorite vendor too! She is AMAZING!

  • wow combs, sounds like an amazing wedding day! congratulations!
  • It was my understanding that Sarah from You're Invited doesn't do the designing or make the invites herself -- she contracts out through other invitation companies, right?
  • Thanks Combs! Gordon BIersch is the top of our list for our RD, and I found out about that rewards program when we were there last night with friends. What a good deal! Good food, good beer, an awesome private room, and free gift certificates to boot!

    FutureMrsG: go to Gordon Biersch's website. They have a banquet menu you can download with all the pricing. Its about $34pp for appetizer, choice of salad, choice of 4 entrees, and 2 hr open beer/wine. What Combs listed sounds like the next one down, which is a few dollars cheaper. It really is very reasonably priced.
