Ideas on Military Save-the-Dates

I've been looking at save the dates and I think the ones with the little dress hanging next to the tux are so adorable, but having a tux instead of dress uniform is about as bad as having a blonde cake topper for a brunette bride!  I was wondering if any of yall had any ideas or suggestions for creating a military themed save the date.  I would still like something "pretty" but want to include some element of the Army.  Thanks for any suggestions!

What branch is your FI? (I assume it's your FI, since you are talking about tuxes, but I'm not trying to offend if you are the servicemember!)

Maybe you could add the braches' colours? Like red/blue for marines, blue/white for AF, etc...

If you can't find anything cheap enough online, maybe you could DIY? That way you get exactly what you are envisioning.

Thanks for those links, Rach.  I'd actually seen the first link and I wasn't thrilled with the design but that is what gave me the idea.  I was thinking more like this: http://www.whitedressblacktux.com/SavetheDatePage.php?ProductFamily=A Perfect Pair
but with a mess dress uniform in place of tux.
Yes my fiance is the servicemember, Mel.  He is in the Army.  Great idea with the colors...especially since we will be married at an on post chapel and reception at the officers club.
As far as DIY, I'm considering having someone draw-up a dress uniform, but I just didn't know if there was a clip-art type image out there that would work.  My concern with having someone draw it up is that I would want it to be as accurate as possible and I personally do not know what all the different things on the dress uniform are...and he is deployed, so he can't guide me in the right direction of the important medals, pins, cords, etc.  I guess I may just have to trust that someone around here knows how to draw the uniform.
Thanks for all the replies!  If yall have any other ideas, please feel free to share!

Did you pick out something? If so, post a pic!

I used the marine mini magnet STDS off of magnetstreetweddings.com

I think someone posted that link for you already. I love them, I think they're so cute.

Plus you can change the flowers or whatever on the bride to reflect your color. And you can change the hair color too. Stuff like that is fun.

I thought the magnet street ones were a great idea and all the other branches look really good, but if you notice, the Army Dress Blues aren't even the right colors!  The coat is supposed to be dark navy, bottom royal blue with gold stripe...I'm not expecting a totally accurate image, but I mean the wrong colors?!?  I didn't even realize it was supposed to be army until I read the description...it looked like a commerical airline pilot! As far as I can tell, there is no way to correct that.
I've gone to two stores and asked them to design something like this...nothing too detailed because I like the simplicity of the design and they all tell me they are "researching" it...my wedding keeps getting pushed up for deployments and I have to get my STDs out within the next few days!  If I had even the tiniest amount of artistic or graphic design knowledge, I imagine I could have created a masterpiece with all the hours I've spent searching!

I've thought about that Rach.  It's still far enough out that I want to get STDs especially since its right after the Fourth of July and I imagine a lot of people are going to plan vacations and we will have a lot of out-of-town guests so I want to give them plenty of notice.  I've finally found a lady on etsy who says she can do what I want, so I'm crossing my fingers!  She's done a lot of Christmas cards with military families where she makes almost like computer versions of the couples in dress uniforms.  So I know she has the talent, but I'm still waiting to hear back on an approximate timeline for the proof.  I hope it all works out, and Ill be sure to post pictures of the final product!

I did mine in the colors of his dress uniform. Blue with a stripe of red. I got magnets with pictures on them so that it was totally personal
