Budget venue in or near Chicago

I'm looking for a place to have a reception that's budget friendly. Would like under $30 a person. I know that's unlikely so I'm also looking into renting halls, something nice that's not crazy with its room rental fee. I'm looking in or around the surrounding area. Would like a Friday wedding during summer. Anybody know of any places? Please help!

  • Check out the VFW halls and Elks Lodges - I don't know how many people you are expecting, but if it's around 100 or less, I think they could accomodate.  I also checked park districts in the suburbs that you could rent.
A friend had hers at Lido's Banquets and it was reasonable.  Have you checked Marcello's?   Good luck!
  • Thanks, going to look into it!
  • Depending upon your total party number don't forget to look into good quality restaurants that have dining halls you can rent out. Some even have dance floors you can rent.  It will save you the hastle of having to get EVERYthing catered into a hall.  I had to put together my oldest son's wedding in two weeks due to an issue with the date of the wedding being changed.  We had about 90 people and went to Chef Klaus's Bier Stube (it was Steak & Seafood at the time) in Frankfort.  Food was Awesome, gave a choice of filet cooked to order, or salmon or a pasta dish.  We opted for the bar to be a tab bar because there were so many underaged attendence.  They put in a dance floor for a small charge. Maggiano's little Italy restaurant has banquets at a location too, it's something to look into!  Good Luck!

  • I'm having mine at Mrs Murphy and Sons in Chicago. They have a food package at $30, but that wouldn't include booze. I think it's a very nice space.
