Poll: Short Hair

Would you ever cut your hair short, like really short? Not necessarily buzzed short, but just a couple of inches. Some of the girls on ANTM look really cute with it, but I don't know if I could pull it off. This is probably not something I should be thinking about before the wedding.

I couldn't go short short, I need to have some length in the front at least (not kate gosselin lol)   I have done razor shears cut in the back though pretty darned short.

No way.  Wouldn't work with my face shape.  The girls on ANTM probably look cute because they're beautiful with great bone structure (I still prefer most with long).   You don't have to be drop dead gorgeous to pull it off, but it helps-- or else at least you need to have the right shape face for your hair.

I would do it in a heart beat if I could pull it off.  You pretty much need to have perfect face, ears, etc.  My one ear sticks out just a little bit more than the other and I would totally be self concious of that.   But how easy would that be to get ready in the morning!

although, I used to have my hair fairly short a la siggy pic...but I was thinner then too and my face was thinner.  However, I will be doing a serious chop after the wedding...probably as short as that siggy pic, if not very close.

Plan on chopping of my hair into some sort of bob after the wedding. That's as short as I will ever go.

Yeah Seabass to the butt....first I usually let it airdry because it is so thick on top of it if you see my pics on facebook you can see how long it really is.....The girl doing my hair for the wedding had a field day thank goodness it came out great....If I do blowdry it ..probably easily a half hour

I have had the short to long posh spice thing. I'm probably going to cut it like that again after the wedding. The part that scared me was that my hair is thick so it was undercut--the hair underneath the layer in the back was like an inch long!! But short short, no, I don't think I could do it.

Not me either.  my hair is too curly and I have a round face!  Also, short hair can be more work than long hair.  Long hair can always be pulled back.  With short hair, you always have to "do" it.  Also, need to get it cut very often.

Short for me is chin-length.  I'd love to have a pixie cut but I dont' have a pixie type face.

pixie! That's the name for it! I couldn't think of it for the life of me.

Im late but I had a platinum blonde faux hawk my hair was maybe and inch and a half so long. I loved it! Also did the pixie and other choppy short styles.

kathymarie - I think you have a beautiful face and could def. pull of a pixie style hair cut if you wanted to. I think it definitely depends on personality as well. I had mine short  for a while and a bob that was razored in the back in high school. I don't know if I'll ever go back to it though. I like having longer hair.

NO. I had short hair when I was 8. I canNOT carry short hair at all. I'm one of the few chicks on the knot who didn't have to grow my hair out for the wedding and didn't chop any off post-wedding.

I had my hair pixie-cut short for most of HS and about half of college. Then I grew it out and now I have a less-severe version of the "posh bob". I've basically had shoulder-length or shorter hair since I was 13 and only grew it out for the wedding (and even then it was only 3 inches past my shoulders). This was it at an in-between stage when I was 16. I'm on the left: http://tinyurl.com/oftdcq

Nope, can't pull it off.  I do know that I'm getting too old too wear it as long as it is.
  • edited December 2011
i chopped my hair senior year in hs.  it was a great cut and i loved it for about at day and then wanted my long hair back.  needless to say, i haven't done that since.

JeannineG, define "too old." I'm 39 and my hair is down past my bra strap in the back by a few inches. It won't be any shorter than that any time soon, and perhaps not ever. Besides, my husband HATES short hair and loves mine. He'd be so upset if I did away with any of it. I'm really possessive of it myself. A hairdresser once cut off an extra 2" and I cried all the way home.

You're SO not old. I still call myself a kid! Who decided 35 is old? You know what really pisses me off? The commercial for this stuff: http://www.laurenhutton.com/facediscspecial.html The whole commercial is about how women over 35 need different makeup. Bull. I'm sorry, but I regularly get mistaken for 27 or 28. I wear Bare Minerals. WHEN I wear makeup at all. If you google "makeup over 35," you see all sorts of links to "Should women over 35 wear MAC?" and similar things. Why the hell shouldn't we? Is 35 some magic birthday when we all turn into crones? Sorry for the rant, I'm just really tired of the marketing geared to me as "old" or "too old" for something. Screw that.

I did it after the wedding. I miss my long hair even though I love my new haircut. I'm debating whether or not I want to cut it again or let it grow out.
