Tent Reception Question

I am getting married July 3, 2010 in Hamilton county in a very rural church. As you might know, this does not give me any options on a reception site after the ceramony. I was wondering if you girls could help me on deciding on first, whether I should even consider a tent ceramony in the middle of July. Then, I have been wondering if it would be better to leave the sides off the tent so that the wind can cool the inside of the tent, or should I rent the sides and the "way cool" system that comes with the tent that is said to lower the temperature inside the tent about ten degrees. The "way cool" system can be within my budget, though if I did not go with that option, money would be spent on the food. The reception is also going to be after sunset, so that may make it cooler inside. Please let me know your suggestions, I appriciate it!

    I am not really sure what the "way cool" system is so I can't give you advice on that specific option. In July you definitely need something to cool off the area whether it be fans or a "system."

    Are there any othre options? If it is 95 out, 10 degrees cooler is not a lot. We went to a wedding at a beach chalet type thingy with no AC (in CT) in June, and it was an unusually hot (but dry) day. People were melting. They hardly ate much,  didn't dance and as soon as the cake was cut, they started leaving. It just leaves a lot up to chance on the weather for that particular day. It could be fine, but if you have a place where people can go inside and cool off, it would be one less thing to worry about.

    Does your church have any sort of a hall you could use for the reception? Heat will definitely be an issue for a July wedding outside in Florida- also our cake baker mentioned how if its really hot you can't keep the cake outside until it literally needs to be cut, or the whole thing will melt.

    I would avoid this option at all costs and try to figure out something else. It will be bad for food, cake, flowers, guests etc. Unfortunately 10 degrees cooler in July would still be too hot and if you left the sides open you'd have to worry about bugs.
