Vendor Reviews 8.5.11 wedding part 1

Hello ladies!

My favorite part of the boards is reading the reviews so I figure I would do the same. as most brides say, my wedding was everything i could have asked for and more. I gave everyone a letter rating... I also would say that I rec all of my vendors to anyone!and if anyone has any questions about any of them let me know!

Ceremony and Reception Venue-Cincinnati Music Hall
-planning-A-

Day of-A+++++

I chose Music Hall bc it was so different from anything I have ever seen. It is not cheap to rent however we did get a discount for having a friday wedding. It is BEAUTIFUL and everything I could ask for. The thing you have to remember with music hall, is that weddings are not their thing.. They do so many other events and you are competing with those constantly. I originally met with Terri Kidney who is extremely nice and easy to get along with. She is only deals with the bill and bookings. For all of the details, we had Cindi. Cindi is super nice but she comes across as a bit scattered. Sometimes you would ask a question and she would go off on a story and then you would never really get an answer. She told us she was best to be reached by email. That was fine with me, but there were a few times when I had to write her multiple times bc she didn't respond or didn't answer whatever question i had for her. The day of, she really really came through. The venue looked beautiful. She took care of EVERYTHING and i was never really bothered with anything. I could go on and on about Music Hall, if you are interested in it, let me know

Caterering-Mchale's-
planning-A+++++++

Day of-A+++++++++

McHales was awesome to work with and one of my favorite vendors..They were fairly inexpensive and they put out a 5 star meal. I worked with Megan the whole time and she was wonderful! She always answered any questions i had very quickly and was extremely easy to get a hold of.  Music Hall does not have a working kitchen so you have to bring everything there already made. Our food tasted like it came right out of the oven. They took care of everything that I asked.

Photography-TM Photography, Tine Hofmann-planning- A with a million +'s

Day of-same as above- Simply put she is amazing at what she does. She is so easy be around and she puts a smile on your face! I really think that I could be friends with her outside of the vendor world. She is not cheap but she is worth every penny. My only advice to brides, don't skimp on photography. The final product is worth the price for sure!

Florist-Susan Foy-planning-A+++++++

Day of-A+++++++++

Susan went above and beyond. She was so great to work with and saw my vision perfectly. I only told her what colors I wanted and she picked the perfect flowers... We had a pretty tall order with 10 bouquets, 10 bouts, and 35 tables.. Her pricing was better than anyone else's and  they looked like a 1 million bucks!

Cake-Flying Buttercream
-planning-A++

Day of-A++++++

Tiffany was awesome throughout the whole process. The cake tasted even better the day of my wedding than it did at the tasting. She was also super easy to work with and she did amazing designs. Her price was unbeatable. Its a shame she is no longer taking orders :(

DJ- Mcfadden Music-planning-A

Day of-A++

Mark would occasionally take a little longer than what i expected to return emails but I only needed to contact him one or two times..However, he is extremely busy.. We used him for our ceremony music and the reception... the day of he was great. He may have a played a few more old songs than what I would have liked to have heard but the dance floor was packed the entire night so i should not really complain!

Bridal Attire-Kostovos-A

I got my dress and my BM dresses there. We worked mostly with Victoria who was awesome! they weren't pushy at all and their prices were surprisingly better than other shops in the area. I loved my dress! Jo in alterations is absolutely amazing at what she does! The alterations were a little pricey. I gave them an A bc they did lose my veil and it took them a few weeks to figure out it was put with someone else's dress. Other than that, they were great.

Makeup-Heidi Mckenna-planning-A+++++

Day of-A+++++++

Heidi was awesome and made myself and my bridesmaids look amazing. Her price was unbeatable and she was totally laid back and fun to be around the whole day. Everyone loved their makeup!

Hair-Hairlines-A++++++

I had Connie Polly with Hairlines do my hair and Christina Schmidt did my bridesmaids. They were both AMAZING! Christina charges $35 and I think connie charges $45. They will come to you wherever the party is getting ready!

Videography-Jon Nicholas-I am obviously going to give Jon great reviews bc I work with him at WCPO. He is amazing at what he does and I would tell anyone looking for a cheaper videographer to check him out. He is not specifically a wedding videographer, he does it on the side and produces a nice product.

Calligraphy-Blink Calligraphy-A

If you calligraphy but don't want to pay a lot, Angela is your girl. She lives in lexington but she has great handwriting and does great work. The only thing is she did accidentally double some of the invites and she also messed up a name or two. It really wasn't that big of a deal and I would use her again for sure.

Photobooth-Kelly Burns- planning-A+++

Day of-A+++

Not gonna lie, I had no idea how this was going to turn out. We got a friend of a friend who actually built his own! he only charged us $400 and it turned out great and it was a huge hit! I am not totally sure if that will be his price to everyone...

    Great review!  Does Hairlines have a website or online photo gallery?  I'm currently looking for a reasonable hair stylist who will come to our house on the day of the wedding, and it's always helpful to see their work before booking...
