I visited a venue!

I went and checked out the Newland House in Huntington beach.  I had a feeling it wouldn't be what I was looking for, but I was already going to be down there so I decided to get my feet wet with the venue searching.  It was nice, but pretty plain and in a weird location.  But I feel like a took a step forward!  I want to make appointments to see other places now!

That's definitely a great step forward! I don't think I've heard of that venue before. What kind of place are you looking for?

It's a tiny little historic house and barn, my parent grew up in Huntington Beach and hadn't even heard of it.  I'm looking for a venue that allows outside catering for the most part.  I like historic houses.  I love the house/venue in my bio cause it reminds me of The Notebook :)

Looking a venues is such a big step forward! I already knew where I wanted to get married but I still went and looked at a bunch of venues just to be sure. So I think its great that you are looking around

Also check out the Lindley Scott House. I can't remember if they allow outside catering though. Congrats on looking at your first venue. The first one is always fun even if you don't think it is the one.

Kasi, the venue in my bio is the Crestmore Manor.  I love it from pictures, I have yet to go see it.  But I called a few weeks ago and they have a message saying they don't have any more Saturdays for 2010, and some Fridays and Sundays.  I really like it, I just keep thinking of what if's.  What if we get stationed in Santa Barbara, or San Diego, or Long Beach, will I really want to have the wedding in Riverside?  I'm just not there yet with putting down a deposit.
