Practice run on hair

Ok knotties, I'm trying to make a decision here.  I've been going to my hair stylist for about a year and a half.  She's doing the hair for my wedding and the big question is, do I spend the money to have a run thru on my hair or just wing it the day of?  Silly question, yes, but we're on a realllllllly tight budget....  What do you all think?

I would spend the money if you can swing it.  I took an extra trip to Vegas for my hair and makeup trial :)  Of course it was a rather lame excuse but anything to get to Vegas!

Honestly...I highly recommend having a trial.  That way you can see if you really like the style you're envisioning on YOU, you can see how it holds up, what types of little "primping fixes" the style might require, you might change your mind, etc.  I used my own stylist for my wedding day also and even with her - I wanted a trial.  It was totally worth it!  We found that we needed to use different products to achieve the style AND we found out how long it would take so that I could finalize and perfect my day-of timeline.  Oh - AND I had it done the day of my bachelorette party so that I felt “glammed” up for the party AND since I knew it would take a beating…I saw how it withstood dancing , hugging, etc., lol. I hope this helps!  :-)

If you can afford it I definitely would! The biggest thing I'm uncomfortable with is that I won't have time for a trial with my hair/makeup artist before the day. However, I am getting my usual hairdresser to do a trial at home so that I can make sure that I like the style that I have chosen and that the reality matches up to the dream. We will take photos and show them to James on the day so he knows exactly what look I'm going for.If your budget is really tight and you're not sure that you can afford paying for your stylist to do a trial, do you have a friend that is good with hair who may be able to have a play about? One of my BMs was going to do this for me, as my sister (who was supposed to be doing my hair) pulled out of the whole wedding. Luckily my stylist is going to do this for me as a gift. Of course it depends on how complicated your style is but I think if you don't have the funds to pay out for a trial, having someone give you a rough idea of what it will look like on the day may put your mind at rest and give you the time to tweak. The last thing you want is to be walking down the aisle uncomfortable with your do

I've been contemplating trials too. You girls are lucky to be able to bring your own stylists with you. Just not in my budget. That is a great idea though about having them do a trial for you at home and taking photos. I would have time to do a trial in Vegas the day before my wedding. Not sure I really want everyone to see what it is going to look like the next day though.
