NWR: Housewarming Party

FI and I were invited to FI's cousin's housewarming party last weekend but couldn't make it. I was going to send a card but wasn't sure if I should send a gift as well? This is the second house FI's cousin and her husband have owned and they got married over 5 years ago so I don't think they would need too much. If you would send a gift, any suggestions on what to buy? TIA!

Since it's their second home I don't think I'd worry overmuch about a gift... I tend to think of housewarming gifts as being for people who are in their first home and need help setting up "house".If it was someone I was close to, I'd try to find a nice wall hanging, framed print, etc. - check out Etsy!  There are some incredible bits of decor on there.  If you're not sure of their decorating style or aren't confident that you could choose something they could incorporate into their home, I'd probably skip it and go with a gift card.

Here's an Etsy Gift Guide called "Cozy Home".  Obviously you aren't going to spend hundreds of dollars on furniture, but some of the wall decor, candle holders, etc. might be a jumping off point?http://www.etsy.com/gift-guides/a-cozy-home/122
