  I did it the day before our wedding and looked kind of funky for a day, but it turned into a natural glow after I took a shower.

  Yeah I think a day or two in advance is probably fine..it toned down in plenty of time. But I do wish I'd done the tan the night before, so all the pictures of my girls night out didn't have me looking so ridiculous.

  It always looks really funny right after you get it. I usually get airbrushed by hand, so the woman coats on the bronzer. I refuse to leave the house before the required 8 hours is up...then I immediately get in the shower.
