Guestbook vs Signature Mat

I love the Signature Mat - it's always been something I thought was so neat. Then at my cousin's wedding we saw the Polaroid Guest Book. (Take a pic with a polaroid & sign by your picture). Would it be too much to do both?

Re: Guestbook vs Signature Mat

  • You could definitely do both...I think the photo booth is a REALLY neat idea and fun for the guests plus it creates memories for them and you.  If budget allows and that's what you want to do, do it.
  • I think you need to pick one or the other. Not everyone signs the guest book as it is, so I think it's less likely that you're going to get guests to do both.
  • I would pick one or the other.  As a guest, I would find it kind of eye-roll worthy to have to sign and write a message in two different spots.  Also you might have people only do one or the other, which kind of defeats the purpose of both.  I think you should just pick one or the other.

  • i think you should pick one or the other. i love the polaroid idea! i am doing something sort of similar to your signature mat. we are making a photobook of all our engagement pictures from shutterfly.com (it's going to be the size of a coffee table book) and then we are going to have everyone sign inside the book in the white areas...sort of yearbook style!
  • Pick one. I have having both is going to be too much. Not everyone is going to want to take images of themselves.
  • I am having a photoboot that will print out the pictures for the guests, but then we also get a copy.  I am not requesting the guests to sign those at all.  I am however planning on doing a guestbook using a book I am creating at shutterfly with our engagement pictures.  Do you think that it's to much?  I want the guestbook because it's going to be right when you walk in and I think people will most likely sign it.  I believe most people will use and enoy the photobooth, but not sure that everyone will.  Plus, we are not doing much for favors because the photo prints are the favors for our guests.  Whats your thoughts???

    Thanks,

  • A kit for doing instant photos in a a guestbook

I love this idea, It comes with film paper, a instant camera and a guestbook with picture inserts inside and pages for guests to sign next to their pictures! The reviews are all very positive! Polaraids are no longer being made, so this is the new thing to replace it, with quality photos (supposedly)

I think this is what I am going to do, and have my ushers be in charge of getting everybody take a photo and sign next to it. For my wedding I will have to have guests take pictures in small groups to get everybody in it, but I think that just makes it funner!

I agree with the other girls that getting your guests to sign one thing is hard enough. I went to my friends wedding where they had people sign a guestbook and picture mat for an engagement photo, and most of the guests signed just the guestbook and not the mat, and they actually have the picture on display and the guestbook?... well, I haven't seen it since the wedding, so I asume it's collecting dust somewhere, unfortunately, like most average guestbooks.
