This is a hugely personal post and I completely understand if there are no replies to this.
I'm wondering what everyone's budget is broken down by category. How do you plan to pay for it? Are you lucky enough to have family help? Have you had anyone get snarky with you over how you are choosing to spend your money?
I am the typical woman who has dreamed of my wedding my entire life. I wanted to be a wedding planner and a fun way to spend free time was reading wedding etiquette books at the library. My parents know how important this day is to me and while I didn't expect them to contribute to the budget, they are helping which is a big help.
My fiance also understands how important it is to me and even though he would prefer that I save money for a deposit on a future home, he is fine with me spending it on the wedding. My FI's parents, however do not understand and most likely think I'm being irresponsible. They are much more financially stable than my parents, but will not be contributing, which I completely understand. We did not ask for anyone to contribute.
Costs are regional of course, so this is based on Northwest Arkansas prices. I'm posting from mobile and the dollar sign will not show up.

I feel like I'm missing something here. My parents are giving me 5,000 and the rest is completely paid by me. I have 5,000 on my credit card for wedding costs right now and I have a good 6,000 more to pay before the wedding. I really don't think I'll be able to have it paid by the wedding I'm hoping to be 3,000 or less on my credit card at the end of it all. I didn't total it, but I think it's around 16,000 or so. I never thought I would be able to have my dream wedding, but it truly is! I hope it lives up to my expectations, lol, but even if it doesn't I will have my super handsome husband to come home to every day and that is what I'm looking forward to the most.
How bout you, ladies?
