July 4th Weekend Wedding

My wedding is July 3rd, over the holiday weekend. How far in advance should I send out my save-the-dates, so my guests (mostly family) know not to make other plans that weekend?

    I'd send them just after the first of the year.  That way those that have to take time from work, save vacation days, make travel arrangements, etc. will have plenty of time to schedule.Also, I wouldn't send them in Dec only so that they didn't get mixed up with the Christmas mail. Although, if you wanted to include them with Christmas cards it would be a great time.

    I would send them in Jan. after the holidays. Also I would send your wedding invites 12-10 weeks before instead of 6 weeks.
