Friday P90X Accountability

So, I didn't go to pilates yesterday.  I went shopping instead and found a dress for my rehearsal dinner.  I tried it on for fiance when he got home from work, and he swallowed and said, "Wow."  So, I got all nervous that it was too tight or that it didn't look good since his general thing to say "it's cute" or "you look nice" (it's a 40s/50s style dress so it is very fitted).  He actually thought I looked hot in it.  He's not one for compliments (typical dude) so that was a pretty huge compliment.  Anyways, all the hard work seems to be for something if my fiance thinks I'm hot (not just pretty or cute or "I love you no matter what you look like").  :)  I've got Core today, but I think I'm going to just do a yoga class and do Core tomorrow.  We'll see.  It's very hard to get up the motivation to workout during a recovery week (I need to be challenged to really feel motivated) and it's also really rainy and gloomy in Austin this week.Happy Friday!

  • Today I did Kenpo-x. I haven't done it in months and the first time since i bought my HRM. I didn't have alot of time so I skipped the stretching at the beginning but I only burned 270 calories. What is everyone else burning in Kenpo? I was kinda frustrated with that. Spacey - congrats on looking so hot!

  • I'm not surprised you didn't burn that much on Kenpo being a runner.  I burn about 400-500 calories, but I also don't run very often since I have a bad knee so I'm sure you're much more fit cardiovascularly than I am :)Did you still hate it?  The stretching part is really annoying.

  • I HATE the stretching. I'm not very flexible so I suck at it. The workout itself wouldn't be bad if it weren't for 'the block series'. Are you kidding me? I can't keep in my zone at all with that bs. I think my AVG HR was like 119 and max was like 145 (and that was during the warmup running part). I like kenpo better than cardio x. I should do cardio x now that I have my HRM to see.

  • No, don't do it!  :)  You will loathe cardio X if you do it with an HRM.  I only burn about 300 calories doing it, so you'll probably be lucky to get 150 and I can imagine that tiny amount will upset you as much as it would me.  I burn more calories doing a fast walk than I do with cardio X.I hate the elbow series.  Hep!

  • Spacey- I didn't know that you are in Austin too! That makes me feel better that another Austin bride is working their butt off to P90X every day:)

  • We're actually getting married in Indianapolis because some family members aren't able to travel down here.  There are a lot of nice places here, I would have liked to have had it somewhere along the Guadalupe River.  Do you know where you are having yours?
  • We're getting married at Dunvegan Keep.  If you haven't seen it, you should google it.  It's really pretty but seriously bizarre.  Only in Austin :)  It's one of the only spaces we could find that's suited for an intimate wedding, and as we get closer to the actual wedding our "intimate" wedding of 65 is looking more like 35-40.  Less than 2 months now!
