Nevada-Las Vegas

Where are you staying?

I was just curious where people are staying while in Vegas? Especially those who are not getting married at their hotels. Are you staying in the same hotel as your guests? I'm a little torn. I personally like to have a nice room and have stayed at Caesars and MGM in the past (never the standard room). Some of my guests (including my parents) will be looking to do Vegas as cheaply as possible. So something like the Flamingo would be their preference. I've thought about staying somewhere a little higher end for some of the trip (we'll be there 6 nights) and moving to be with the guests for the rest. Just seems like a lot of work to change hotels mid-trip.

We stayed at Paris for the first four nights of our trip, since we got married there. Since we were on a budget, we changed hotels for the last three nights and stayed at Luxor for about $50 a night, whereas we'd be spending twice as much at Paris. We think of it as, how much time are you really spending in your hotel room in Vegas? We try to go as cheap as possible, but in the nicer hotels. We won't stay at Imperial Palace or Circus Circus, even if they are dirt cheap. Also, changing hotels mid trip isn't all that bad and worth it sometimes.

We are staying at the Excalibur because we got weekly room rates for $40-$60 a night. We are on a budget so we did not want to spend the money on a room we will barely be in. Some of our Family and Friends will be staying with us. Our friends who have already been to Vegas will be staying across the street at New York New York. You should stay somewhere that you like, but that is close to a cheaper hotel? My mom is staying with my Grandparents at the opposite end of the strip in the Golden Nugget. Its Vegas, we don't all need to be in the same hotel!! :)

Yeah, I'm actually thinking of the Bellagio for the first 3 nights. We arrive Sunday and the wedding is Tues so we'd have this room for me to get ready. Then the next day we could move across to Flamingo Go room for the rest of the trip. To be closer to my parents AND to save us some money :) How did you like Paris? I've never stayed there but enjoyed playing in their casino.

We are staying in a 1 bedroom tower suite at the Mirage. Everyone is getting ready in our room, and I thought that a standard room would be too cramped for 7 people to be moving around. We did consider staying in a basic room for the days leading up to the wedding and then moving into a suite for the weekend, but FI didn't want the hassle of changing rooms. Another factor was that we had to cut our honeymoon due to finances, so I wanted to make the most out of our stay in Vegas. Our guests are scattered around. Our parents are staying in the Mirage with us, my siblings are going to be at Circus Circus, and some friends are going to be at Flamingo and Bally's.

I've been looking at the Mirage Tower Suites for the same reason to have a nice big room for getting ready and having drinks. This is our wedding/honeymoon so that is another reason why I'd rather splurge a bit on a room - at least for some of the trip.

We've got the Vista suite for the ceremony and reception, so we'll be staying there the night before and the night of.  We haven't booked the honeymoon because we're not sure what our budget will be yet, but we're thinking Paris or Venetian.I don't think any of our guests have booked their hotel yet, but we're encouraging them to look at the hotels on the south end of the Strip where it intersects Tropicana.  I think most of them will probably be at Luxor and Excalibur because they have better rates, although I know my sister was talking about saving up so she and her husband could stay at the Bellagio.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

We stayed at Treasure Island for the entire week but also booked a room at the Venetian for our wedding night and the night prior.  Me and my BMs got ready in our Venetian room and DH and the GMs got ready at TI.  Our guests stayed in various hotels throughout the strip but mainly Harrah's and Monte Carlo.  I don't think it's necessary for everyone to stay at the same hotel and everyone has a different idea of what is nice and what price they want to spend.  Changing hotels was really not that bad.  GL!

We are staying at the Wynn. We're not doing a honeymoon until our 1 year anniversary so we wanted to go a little nicer. All of my family are staying at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club on the strip, my family tends to go once or twice a year so my parents bought a time share years ago. I'm letting guests find rooms based on their budgets, so I don't plan to do a block of rooms. My sister did a junior suite at TI and it was pretty nice. I heard they just updated most of the rooms too.

We are staying at Mandalay Bay, some of our guests are staying here with us, then we have people at: Luxor; Excalibur; Planet Hollywood; Bally's and Stratosphere. We are literally covering the whole of the strip!

we are getting married at the flamingo, but have 7 nights booked in a spa suite at the excalibur ... we got a great deal on this - $700 for 7 nights! - and we are having our reception in a vista suite at mandalay bay, so we are staying there for the wedding night and the night after.  most our friends and fmaily took advantage of the sale at the excalibur when we did, but FH's parents, LOVE paris, so i think they are staying there.

We are staying at a rental house and getting married in the backyard. I was planning to get married at the Bellagio and staying in a rental house to keep costs down. A 5 or 6 bedroom vacation home is pretty decent in cost when you split it up between everybody. But since we found a great rental house where we can have a backyard wedding it worked out perfectly!

We're getting married at MB but staying at the Venetian for the entire week. We figured it's our honeymoon, as well as our wedding, why not splurge and get a room we'd love. I was concerned about being closer to my guests, thinking that they'd stay at MB or somewhere closer. But so far people are over the strip. I wouldn't worry about seeing your guests. You're rarely in the room anyway. You can go visit them and then back to your hotel for some real alone time.

We are staying at Excalibur, then at Planet Hollywood. The rest of our guests are staying at the Excalilbur, where the wedding is. My mom is upset because we are not staying at the Excalibur the whole time, but we can't host an insuite reception at the Excalibur.

We're getting married at the Venetian but are staying in a 1br room at the Signature MGM. We got a great deal booking privately and it means we'll have a huge room to get ready (I love that it has 2 bathrooms! Great for when the girls get ready)  and that we can also invite our guests up for drinks on nights before the wedding. And I wanted to splurge a bit :-) Our guests are staying at a variety of locations, so I don't think it matters where you stay.
