Re: Pro pics finally!

Stunning.  All of your hard work really paid off.  Congratulations!    I have to ask if you had any lighting towards the end of the night.  It is hard to tell in the pictures.  (Still trying to figure out if our lanterns will be enough for the last hour of our reception.)

We did have lighting and our dj did it all.  He had a few lights pointed onto the dance floor, another flood light to light up the huge oak tree at the end of the yard and then he had uplighting all around the porch and in some of the bushes.  I think it depends on what kind of mood you're looking for.  I don't think you need a ton of lighting if you have lanterns and candles and everything.  For us, we knew it was going to be windy which meant we couldn't have a ton of candles!

Hey Mary, The photos look amazing! I wanted to give everyone an idea of what we used to light up your wedding as a reference. For the oak tree, I used 4 750 watt floods, and for the up lighting on the dance floor and along the house I used 22 LED up lights. I also used three for the tree behind your sweet heart table that were battery powered because there was no power in the planter. I have included a couple of pictures of what it looked like. Camera flashes do take away a lot of the effect. Enjoy and I hope this answers some of the questions. Thanks for the info.  Our reception is wrapping up around 7, so the sun will have barely set.  We will have kerosene lanterns on all of the cocktail tables.  Plus more lanterns on shepherd hooks around the area.  I just don't know if lights are worth the expense for such a short time.

I would agree, sunlight does kill any lighting effect and candles would be a much better effect because you can see the flame and it adds a very romantic touch to any surroundings. Try and make sure they are in glass to keep them from blowing out with the slightest breeze.
