Hair Drying Aid?

So my stylist used this mousse or gel on my hair on Saturday that is supposed to help your hair dry faster.  It seemed like it really did work.My hair holds onto water like crazy - it takes me for.ev.er to get it dry, even when it's this short.Anyway - they use Paul Mitchell and I checked it out at GE yesterday - $21!! Ummm... just can't justify that much $$.  Anyone know of another brand that sells something like this, that may not be quite so expensive?  It would be so great to save me some time in the mornings. Half the time I don't dry it all the way because it takes so long - then as it dries on its own, it also gets a mind of its own - and I get random waves and stuff where I don't want it.

Sally's Beauty usually carries knock-offs of brands like Paul Mitchell - I'd check there!

Grocery stores are usually the most expensive places to buy hair/beauty stuff (unless it is on sale).  Maybe try Sally's or Ulta?  There are usually Ulta coupons good for $3-5 off.

I'm not sure what helps hair dry faster (I'm so cutious now tho!), but I'm using this now and I lurve it... http://www.johnfrieda.com/products/products.asp?pid=115&section=products&subSection=rootAwakening&lineID=9It holds my hair in place and protects it from the heat of my hair dryer and my straightening iron.

I would suggest it was not the hair product, but it was the hairdryer in conjunction with the product.  I have a Chi Turbo and my hair drying time was cut by 20-25 minutes when I got this dryer (I have bra strap length curly hair I straighten).  You can find the dryer for $95 on amazon, you'll probably get a lot more use  out of the dryer than a $21 tube a gel.  Not to mention the gel is probably chock full of alcohol which is drying (hence the way it dries faster).  This hair dryer is ceramic ionic technology, supposedly healthier for hair.  My idea is if it takes me less time to dry, that's definitely healthier with less exposure time.

ooo I didn't know such a product existed! Now I'm intrigued...

I'm sure the hair dryer helps, but she's always used the same one and it's always taken forever to get it to dry.  I realize I had less hair this time, but even with that, it seemed to go pretty quickly.  I am admittedly cheap - and I could never justify spending $100 on a hair dryer. Also why I'm posting asking about a cheaper alternative to this hair product. :)

I don't have a tip for the product but I'm with the idea on a better drier.and I'd stay away from grocery store "salon brands" sometimes the grocery stores get those brands after they are already out dated products Or lesser quality but have the right packaging. Salon brands are best when bought in a salon.

I'm pretty cheap too, I use sauve shampoo and conditioner, but get a salon look with the dryer and brushes which to me are a better investment.  Just an idea I was tossing out there!

What's the name of the product?  Do you know anybody with a cosmetology license?  I'll be in Monroeville on Friday picking up my bridesmaid dress at DB, I can stop in the beauty supply store right next to there and see if they carry it, and if so I can pick it up for you.  The cosmetology stores sell it much cheaper, but you need a license to purchase anything from there.

I have very thick, very wavy hair and it's just below my shoulders that I dry and straighten out almost every day.  I use Chi Silk Infusion $29.99 at GE and I refuse to pay grocery store or even Ulta prices so I searched on Ebay and it was $10.00 cheaper per bottle so I bought 4 bottles which will last me for years!!  So you may want to try ebay or follica.com or even Trade Secrets.Do you use a flat iron, if so, my hair tends to look better when I wash a night and air dry and straighten out the next morning!

This site seems to have a lot of products at good prices. I've never heard of it, but looks good. http://www.folica.com/CHI_Silk_Infusi_d2300.html

I bought a hair straighter from Folica, it's Sedu...way better than a Chi! Also, Molly that $14.99 for Silk Infusion is for a 2oz bottle and I got 12oz for $19.00 on Ebay.  Silk Infusion has done wonders for my hair!!
