Out of Town Welcome Bags

Have any of you done these / plan on doing these?  If so, what kinds of items are you going to put in the bags?  We would like a couple MI or GR based products if possible, as well as some other practical items, but I am having a hard time coming up with inexpensive yet good ideas!!

We wanted to do michigan based products but everything i could think of was too expensive. Ours will have a variety of snacks, bottled water (which comes from MI springs :) ), advil packets, and downtown maps.

you can get maps and directory books at the city hall downtown for free that you could throw in.. All so how about apples, wine, fudge....  bottled water or candy bars with your monogram on them.

I'm thinking about doing GR popcorn bags as our favors....they are only $2-3 per 4 oz. bag.

I ended up bagging this idea (har har har) to save money, but I did do the GR popcorn company caramel corn for our favors which everyone absolutely loved, so that might be a good addition to your bags. If you buy them in bulk, it's only $27.50 for 40 bags, which I thought was a really great deal.Otherwise, I was just going to put in maps/brochures, maybe some dried Michigan cherries or something, water, trail mix, little hand sanitizers...etc. Things you could buy in bulk at Costco or Sams would be good or at the travel sized aisle at Target.

I did this for my wedding back in April.  We put in Water, advil packets, pretzels, some nuts (almonds, Cashews)some candy, and a welcoming packet with a map of things to do in the area, restraunts, and a little bit of history of where we got married.  I think we put some other things in there to, but I cant remember it all...
