High Quality Low Cost DJ's Needed: RECOMMENDATIONS?

Hi local Knotties! We are getting married in June 2010 and are in need of a DJ. Like many of you, we have a tight budget and while we want affordability, we want quality.I do not want a DJ to 'entertain' as in one who engages, talks, and calls out to guests. As dry as it may sound, I want a professional with references who can simply play music per our request, and professionally announce us when appropriate. Also to note, our wedding will be in the Lake Norman area, on a Friday, and indoors. We figure we'll need 4-5 hours of services.Who do you recommend? We have received quotes all over the board and find people are either unreasonable in their quotes, OR, they are low in quotes and seem unprofessional and unorganized. PLEASE - FELLOW BRIDES, I NEED YOUR HELP! THANKS!

All The Right Grooves - they're the board favorite. They'll do as much or as little as you want them to. We used Bethany & she was absolutely wonderful.www.therightgrooves.com

We are working with 1st Carolina DJ. Their pricing is good, I think. There are some mixed reviews out there, but so far they have been really good to us. I don't have more of a review myself since we haven't actually used them yet, but it's worth checking into!

I am using Masque Productions who is in your area. I have seen him perform and he is good. We are using him for our wedding. $400 for 6 hours. Let me know if you want his contact info b/c I don't think he has a website.

I plan on using Southern Entertainment.  He does lots of events like Charlotte area proms at Lowe's Motor Speedway.  Tell him Ginger recommended you to him.  His rates are moreso dependent on the needs of the brides and what you would like for him to do.  So you would have to contact him for quotes.  The owner is Ben Suggs and his website is www.southerndjs.com. Ben has experience such as working as a dj for a popluar radio station but to me he is not very expensive.  Ben is a really cool guy as well! :) PS I love Lake Norman area...hopefully one day I will be living near the lake!

Oo Lacey we are! I honestly don't know who the actual DJ is. Do you? FI has talked to Larue only, so I assume it is him?
