Is it possible to negotiate on venue package price?

I was planning to go with this venue who has package wedding deal (dinner/reception) but they also charges $2000 extra for ceremony.Do you think it would be possible to get a discount or negotiate a price on the ceremony fee?  Do you think they might get offended if I ask?  How much discount did you get when you asked?

Definately try to negotiate! Many venues are hard hit with the economy and making serious deals. We negotiated our package to fit a price that we wanted. Then we negotiated our chairs from 6.50 to 5.00. It can't hurt to ask if they can fit it into your budget and be open with them on what you can or are willing to spend. GL!

I absolutely agree! It can't hurt to try.  They know brides shop around and I would make them know you are still looking. Good luck! Can't wait to hear if it works.

"Start out with an ideal, and end up with a deal" :) It never hurts to ask. As long as you respect their establishment and position, most people are willing to work with you. I am also working on negotiating a room rental fee for my venue. As stated, we are in a bad economy and everyone needs business. Good luck!

Definitely ask.  I was able to get $1000 off my ceremony package price.  I just told them that I really wanted to use the same venue for my ceremony but their price was out of my budget.  They immediately offered $1000 off. I've negotiated with most of my vendors and so far most of them have been willing to work with my budget.
