  I have seen them at Michaels.  They can be done a few different ways.  The one I have seen done was the bride poured one color sand into the vase, and the groom poured another.  And the officant said something along the lines of "may theese two people never be separeted again, just like these grains of sand."

  We bought our sand kit from Your Perfect Day.  They provide a shadow box, colored sand and two glass sand holders.  The shadow box they provide is perfect because you can add a photo and even shut it.  We put our shadow box in our bedroom and it is a daily reminder of our wedding day!
