Hi! I'm hoping you can give me some input on some USVI stuff. St. Thomas and St. John are definitey on our list of options for our honeymoon. We're using my FMIL's timeshare so our hotel options are a little limited. I'm hoping you might be able to shed some light on our choices.St. Thomas: Marriott's Frenchman's Cove (got ok reviews on tripadvisor; said to be on the small side, especially the beach)St. John: Westin St. John (not overly enthusiastic reviews on tripadvisor though it seems to be a very nice resort)Do you have any opinions on either of these places? Yay? Nay?TIA!

  • Damm... that is tough. I love Frenchman's reef timeshare.  I stayed there last year for the night. (charity event that we did not want to drive home from).  When you walk in there is such a WOW factor when you look through the huge picture window.   You will be closer to the pool and beach then the Westin. You are close to the shopping and stuff, but the beach is just okay.  Sunsets are great. BUT....I LOVE St John and will take that over St thomas anyday.  I'm not a fan of the Westin Timeshare.  Although they have been updating them and I have not been in one in a few years.  I do not like the Westin's beach at all and depending on where they put you the distance to the beach and the main hotel can be quite far.  Their food is okay.  St John has great restaurants off property. So basically you can go either way because there are pluses and minus to both.Sorry if I'm not much help.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • That definitely helps - thanks!!!
